Pewsey nestles in the heart of the beautiful Vale of Pewsey,
which is a major feature stretching east to west, for nineteen miles,
across the rolling Wiltshire countryside.
We are a fledgling part of the U3A organisation having started in July 2008,
but already has a substantial number of members with many
varied groups and activities.
The University of the Third Age is a national organisation for people who are retired
or semi-retired, and no longer in full time employment,
it provides creative, educational and leisure opportunities in a friendly environment.
Local U3As throughout the UK organise and provide interest groups in accordance
with the wishes of its membership,
by drawing on the skills of its members, sharing knowledge and experience
to develop their abilities by learning from each other.
Offering the chance to take part in over 300 different subjects and activities,
in such fields as art, languages, music, history, life sciences, philosophy,
crafts, computing, photography and walking.
No qualifications are needed or gained and none are given,
learning is a pleasure and can be fun, and a great way to keep active
mentally, physically and socially.
All you need to join is an interest and enthusiasm.
